Judgment Denying Claims Against Estate Client Upheld by Texas Supreme Court

In 2019, Ware Jackson won a summary judgment for its estate client denying five beneficiaries’ claims for over $37 million and was awarded its full attorneys’ fees incurred defending the case. In 2023, the Texas Supreme Court affirmed in a unanimous opinion holding contractual releases by the beneficiaries were fully enforceable and precluded their claims. Ware Jackson then collected the attorneys’ fee judgment on behalf of the estate.
