Ware Jackson secures victory for mineral owners in lease breach of contract with publicly traded operator
Ware Jackson partner Knox Nunnally settled a seven-figure oil and gas settlement for a group of West Texas mineral and surface owners against a publicly traded operator in Reeves County, Texas. Ware Jackson sought to terminate both surface and mineral leases for violations of the lease terms by the operator. The lease was valued at approximately 15k an acre and covered approximately two sections. Ware Jackson was able to secure new mineral and surface lease terms to include new lease bonus payments, new royalty payments, continuous drilling requirements, and elevated protections for the surface.
